Our extremely popular 'not the nine lessons and carols' sees us exploring a rich seam of Christmas songs old and new. As ever, expect some delightful music that captures the true spirit of the season and encourages some hearty participation from the audience!
True to form, the Singers have unearthed a rich treasure-trove of settings from across the ages: everything from medieval to modern and more. Their programme highlights the sumptuous soundworld both of Renaissance composers Byrd, Lassus and Praetorius, and more modern settings by Peter Warlock, Kenneth Leighton, Richard Rodney Bennett and Dobrinka Tabakova. Through this tapestry of alluring sound we hear the familiar story of the stable retold afresh.
